Is it gin o’clock yet?
It’s Thursday night and I can already hear the weekend calling, whoops 😜). That means it’s time to put aside that (boring) bottle of Evian and make room for an (awesome) gin tonic. And I don’t know about you, but it’s by far my favorite type of aperitivo. Although a gin tonic looks kind of easy to make, we all know that the trickiness lies in the details. That’s why I always go to Gintonicshop Hasselt for some advice. And boy o boy, the manager, Peter, has learned me some awesome combinations.. This is my top 3:
1. Monkey 47 with a Thomas Henry tonic and a touch of citrus.
2. Buss Rebel Cut with Syndrome Velvet tonic and licorice.
3. Gin Mare with 1724 tonic and rosemary (or basil).
What is your favorite gin tonic? How do you like to combine it?
Another unique thing about the Gintonicshop, is that they organise GINTASTINGS ànd different types of gin ‘game nights’. Each week, another event is awaiting you.
You have the GINSCAPE (“Can you escape the room?”), the MURDER & GIN (“Clue (cluedo in Dutch), but with gin.”) and the GINHUNT (“Search the gin throughout Hasselt city.”). Their ‘ginscape’ is unique in Belgium, since they are the only ones who offer a complete all-in formula, including lots of gin, food and three different escape rooms.
And if you want to explore something truly special, you can attend their yearly GIN OR TREAT. A Halloween event like you’ve never seen one before. I’ll definitely be attending to see if I can survive the gin torture 🍸😏.
If Halloween is not your thing, no worries. Gintonicshop asked yours truly to be the first to share with you their new idea: the GINSTREET WINTER on December 17th. Think of a winterwonderland, but then with lots of gin. Who’s in? 😉
PS: Gintonicshop also has a store in Antwerp on De burburestraat number 17.
