Valencia Citytrippin’

A few tips & tricks.

Those who follow me on Instagram and Facebook already know that I went on a girlstrip to Valencia a few months ago. One of my besties had the idea of celebrating her birthday over there, and our entire friend group was ‘in’ from the beginning. So here are a few tips on where to eat & what to do in Valencia.

What to do
One of the most fun things we did, was renting a bike. We crossed through the Jardin del Turia, made a quick stop at the Ciudad de les Arts y Ciencias and ended our trip by the sea at Marina Beach Club. Okay I have to admit, after a few hours of tanning (read: sipping cocktails by the pool), it wasn’t easy to start our 30-minute bike ride back to the city.. But we made it back without us even realizing it. Because times flies when you’re having fun 😊. Another thing I would definitely recommend, is strolling through the Mercado Central. It is very similar to the Mercat de la Boqueria in Barcelona (for those of you who’ve been there). Just think of fresh fruit, fish and meat stands scattered over a big indoor hall. If you want to go out, you need to go to L’umbracle Terrazza, a big outdoor club located right in the centre of the Ciudad. We came home at 6.30am, enough said.. 👯😉

Where to eat
Since a big part of our trip was devoted to catching up over a glass of wine while having a bite to eat, the ‘where to eat’ part pretty much overlaps the ‘what to do’ part 😄. We had the best sushi ever at the Marina Beach Club (although the service wasn’t that good..), we had some amazing tapas at Trece and the best view ever (the Ciudad at night) at Contrapunto. But we’ve had our best dining experience at Restaurante Riff. The one starred Michelin restaurant blew us away with their extraordinary food as well as their superb service. The presentation of the dishes was always on point, and I’ve never had a waiter with so much product knowledge as the one we’ve had at Riff. As you can see on the pictures, every course (of our 13 course lunch!) was picture perfect. Restaurante Riff definitely is a beacon of rest in a -sometimes- busy Valencia. We got pampered from start to finish, just the way we like it. 👏🏼
