All we’ve asked for, and even more.

Hotel Cervo is located in Zermatt, an idyllic mountain village at the foot of the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps. Zermatt is totally car free, but don’t let that stop you. We parked our car in Täsch and after an idyllic 10minutes train ride we arrived in the centre of luxurious Zermatt. A little taxi car from the hotel was awaiting us. Our adventure could begin..

Frederik and I have been on several ski trips together, but now we’re both convinced that there’s no place like Zermatt. Everything screamed luxury and modernism. From the place where we rented our ski material (they offered to bring our snowboots back to our hotel themselves), to the luxurious ski lifts and ski tunnels throughout the mountains. Everything was right as it should be, and even more.

Our hotel anticipated well on all of that. Cervo is the only ski in/ski out hotel in Zermatt. An elevator, located just a few footsteps in front of Cervo’s entrance, could bring you directly to a skilift or centre village. After sports comes the reward, and let that be something in which Cervo excels. When we came back from skiing the entire day, we enjoyed our daily choco amaretto at the après-ski terrace.
We stayed at a cosy deluxe room in one of Cervo’s six chalets. Each house has its own spa, which Frederik and I went to every evening..And every evening, while relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi with a breathtaking view on the Swiss Alps, we realized what lucky bastards we are. After a while -let’s say when our hands started to get wrinkly- we headed back to our room and enjoyed a drink and a little snack (read: a free of charge minibar for every guest..). When you’re traveling with a big group, you can still rent a private chalet while enjoying all the comfort the hotel has to offer.
Cervo has two restaurants. The Cervo Puro, where the breakfast gets served and you can also enjoy a classic diner. And the Ferdinand, a more traditional Swiss restaurant which offers fondue, raclette and BBQ. My heart goes out to the latter, since almost nothing can beat Swiss cheese if you ask me ;).. For lunch, I’ll recommend you’ll head out to the Cervo Puro sun terrace, and try out the Cervo burger and fries. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on fries with parmesan cheese and truffle. Heaven on a plate.

We felt spoiled throughout our entire trip. I’m definitely putting Cervo Zermatt on my mental ‘what trip to do next’ list.. Can I already go back please?
