Here comes a little Italian update! As you might have read in my previous article, I spent a week in lovely Forte dei Marmi.
The city centre itself is so beautiful and luxurious. In between the several gelaterias and restaurants, you can spot a high fashion store at every street corner. Everyone looks relaxed and happy. Summer is definitely in the air, and you can notice that right away.
If you’re thinking about going to Forte dei Marmi for your summer holiday, I would recommend hiring bikes for a day. It’s the easiest way to get around the city, because many streets aren’t accessible by car. Oh, and the bikes are as fashionable as the city itself: with a leather saddle, leather handles and pastel colours they had me at first sight. I’ve got to get me one of those!
If you’re hunting for a perfect Italian aperitivo or a delicious gelato, you can go to ‘Caffè Principe’. The lemon sorbet was super fresh and, as you can see on the picture, the side dishes you get with your cocktail(s) are pretty amazing.
When you’re looking for good food, it can be quite a struggle. The city centre offers many restaurants, but you have to find to good ones to avoid tourist traps. I can recommend ‘Trattoria Dulè’ for a great pizza or pasta. If you prefer a gastronomic dinner, you can go to ‘Bistrot’. It’s a super romantic restaurant by the beach. They even have a piano player who manages to create the perfect atmosphere. At ‘Bistrot’, I had the best starter I’ve had in years. It was a vegetarian dish with 3 different preparations of tomatoes and zucchini. It was exquisite!
